Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Helpline
Gender-Based Violence remains a serious and widespread issue in Gilgit-Baltistan, affecting women and girls. To address this urgent challenge, the GBV Helpline was established as a toll-free, confidential, and accessible support service specifically designed to assist survivors of violence.
Gilgit-Baltistan history of Police Stations
The Gilgit-Baltistan Police began in 1915 with the Gilgit Police Station under political agents. A formal police force was established in 1972 following reforms by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, replacing the Gilgit Scouts and Levies under the FCR. It now operates across 3 Ranges and 10 Districts with specialized units like the Crime Branch, CTD, and Tourist Police.Source: https://gbp.gov.pk/history-of-gb-police/
